Bug Mola

This may help you to decide if real mola making is for you or not.
This includes a pattern for making this mola.
It can be somewhat challenging and requires some intuitive ability and it takes practice.

Materials Needed

Materials Needed:

Fabrics:
3 pieces of cotton broadcloth, each sized 9" x 7":
White (foundation layer)
Turquoise (middle layer)
Red (top layer)
Black scrap for details
Variety of scraps in different colors

Supplies:
Pattern

Thread to match the turquoise and red layers, black details and the details that will be stitched on top
Sharp embroidery scissors, be sure they have sharp points
Straight pins
Appliqué needle (I prefer milliner's straw needle, size 10)
